Who do we think we are?

Colton Athletic have been an open age football club for more than 20 years in various leagues of Yorkshire.  The club teams currently play within the Yorkshire Amateurs League.

This year 2019/2020 season, Colton Athletic are proud to announce that we are introducing a new team, taking our 2 open age teams and making 3.  This Proves that the hard work of everyone involved is pushing the club in a real positive direction.

​

We believe that Colton Athletic open age football teams have the potential to grow, develop and become a more professional team allowing play to continue in and around Leeds, Yorkshire, for years to come.  As proven through our club growth the team and staff are committed to continually improving.

So who do we have?

First Team Manager – Chris Gibson

Second Team Manager – Richard Hartley

Third Team Manager - Jordan Thackery

Secretary & Chairman – Russell Stevenson

These four, committed and diligent volunteers have been associated with the club for more years than I’m sure they wish to remember!  They have a wealth of knowledge and experience which they bring week in and week out to training and competitive matches.

​

All our teams play their home games at Temple Newsam Park (LS15 0AE), the pitches are generally large and we are lucky they are so resistant to bad weather, our pitches are complimented with a 16th Century, Tudor-Jacobean house and grounds in the back drop. 

As with the Staff, many of our players have played under Colton for more than 20 years.  The club has really become part of people’s lives which is a credit to those who have nurtured and developed the club and players throughout time.

The club, all the players and the community are aiming to develop, grow and improve all the time, in hope that this means a sustainable future for Colton Athletic Football Club.
