In what can only be described as one of the most bizarre games of football ever held at Temple Newsam, there was no shortage of goals. It has to be said that from the very first moment Colton were in control of this game, in fairness it didnt change for the entire game. Good passing, many chances and clinical finishing. Colton dominated. It was a disappointment to conceeed at all, never mind twice, a long ball over the top tucked away nicely and a goal from the kick off lobbed the Colton Goal Keeper. Having said this clinical finishing from Jono Goodwin (2 goals) and new signing Danny Coates (3 goals) gave us the advantage, the goals kept coming and more added their name to the list. Jordan Thackery (1 goal), Max McCormick (1 goal), Josh Naylor (1 goal) all got on the score sheet. Half time substitute James Green also came on to the pitch and scored twice. It could have been significantly more Jordan Thackary hitting the post twice, Chris Hick hitting the bar and the Littletown goal keeper, being their stand out man making a significant number of saves throughout the game, some which seemed impossible. Next week poses a very different occcassion as Colton host Horsforth last years Div 3 winners. This one however will be remembered for a long time to come.
