Colton got the 3 points but made hard work of it.

There was a delayed start; a few of PFC players were late.

The game was refereed exceptionally well by Chris Moore.

So to the game itself….. Colton took the lead on 18 minutes when Josh Naylor went marauding into the PFC box. His low cross was dangerous, and the ball went in off a PFC defender.

Colton played some decent stuff and created a few other opportunities but the PFC keeper kept them out. Some smarter decisions were needed by the hosts.

Chris Wayman extended Colton’s lead on 29 minutes. Wayman rose majestically above the PFC defence to head home from Danny Coates’s corner and at oranges it was 2 – 0, with PFC down to 10 players.

In the second half Colton never took advantage of the extra man (at one point an extra 2 men, as one was also sent to the bin). Indeed, PFC pulled a goal back.

James Kilcoyne restored Colton’s 2 goal advantage when he prodded home a deflected shot.

Colton should then have finished their opponents off but didn’t, and at 3-2 with 25 minutes to play, it was PFC who looked the more dangerous.

Further chances to put the game to bed came and went for Colton as they found space in the final third, however they were grateful to hear the final whistle.

Final score 3 – 2
