After a week off from football, there is always the talk of broken up fixtures and the potential for the amazing run of form to drop. But it was clear from training on Wedsnesday night, right up to the final whislte on Saturday that the hunger and desire to win still drove the team. As you can see from the scoreline the performance was one of power, posession and purpose every single player contributing to the poistive result. The first 15 mins were the most difficult of the game, both teams finding their feet & missing chances. But it wasnt long before Colton properly took control of the game. New striker Danny Coates, continued to tirelessly work up top and continued his good run of form with a hatrick, as did Jono Goodwin with 2 goals. One of which Goodwin calmly took around the keeper and slotted home. The other goals came from Joshua Naylor and Ben Vickers. A through ball from Chris Hick in the centre of the park was latched onto by Jordan Thackery who stormed down the wing, Naylor his opposite number ran onto the incoming low cross and smashed it home. Ben Vickers scored a 50 yard wonder goal from a freekick just inside the Colton half. Some say it was a across, Ben certainly doesn't! It flew right into the top corner, an absolute peach! All in all it was without doubt another great result, a continuation to the great start Colton have had but there are many more games to come. Complacency must be avoided, confidence continued.
