Colton eased past Littletown to go through to the next round. Against a very much changed Littletown from when these two teams met earlier in the season, Colton got off to a flier.
Only 17 seconds had gone and Josh Naylor scored from a cross by Jordan Thackery.
Ten minutes later, Jono Goodwin followed up a long range effort by Ben Vickers. The ‘keeper spilt it and Goodwin tapped in. 2 – 0 Colton took their foot off the gas. Littletown grew into the game. Their slick passing and movement in midfield had Colton chasing shadows for a while, and it was no surprise that the visitors pulled a goal back on 19 minutes.
The passages of play after this goal were scrappy; however the visitors looked as if they had a bit more to offer. However, Colton got back on the pedal and scored their third. Goodwin again the finisher with a header; but it was Danny Coates who was the architect. A fourth goal for Colton on 42 minutes from Thackery put the game beyond Littletown. Coates again provided the assist from a low cross.
Half time 4 – 1
Shortly after the break, Colton made a few substitutions. Coates scored Colton’s fifth on 59 minutes after he was manhandled and scythed down in the box. He dispatched the spot kick. Vickers then got on the score sheet; his right footed finish found the net after Coates did all the donkey work. 6 – 1 Littletown kept at it and had they shown a bit more composure in front of goal may have pulled a couple back. Colton got their seventh on 82 minutes. Pressure was building in and around the Littletown box and ultimately it was James Green who coolly slotted home a low strike into the net.
Final score 7 – 1
