Colton started off this cup match the better team passing the ball well and working hard off the ball. They got the opening goal within 10 mins as Adam Green was pulled down inside the box and he stepped up to put Colton 1-0.
After that Colton had a couple more good chances but couldn't capitalise and this let Farnley grow in confidence and start to get back into the game, Farnley had much more of the possession in the final 15 minutes of the first half and they took their chance well. A long ball over the top of the defence finished well by their striker.
1-1 half time and lots for Colton to talk about.
Colton came out in the second half and got back on top keeping the ball better and working harder to press the opposition. Farnley still had a couple of chances but for Coltons defence and a couple of important saves from Chris Smurthwaite kept them out.
The game looked to be going to penalties as neither side could take their chances until Sam Jones climbed above his marker and powered a header into the top corner, a great delivery by Damian Greenfield. 2-1 Colton managed to hold on to the lead until the final whistle.
A tight game which could of been made easier with better finishing on the day but Colton came through.
