Colton started on the front foot and were playing some nice football, the plan was to get the ball out wide and get men in the box to create danger and that’s how we took the lead.

Great work on the left from Lewis Rothery and a cross into the box which Rob Trigg finished into the bottom corner with a header. Colton carried on working hard and trying to create chances whilst holding off any threat from the opposition with a solid defensive performance.

Colton got the second another attack down the left got Phil woofitt in behind and he waited for the keeper to come off his line before chipping him, lovely finish.

Beeston had a couple of half chances but nothing Coltons defence couldn’t handle. Colton kept on the front foot and got the third, again attacking down the left Lewis Rothery played a ball into Jordan Thackery and he curled one into the top corner from the edge of the box. 3-0 half time and Colton thought the game was over.

Beeston came out the second half with a couple of changes to their team and shape and they started to get back into the game, and create more dangerous attacks. They scored to make it 3-1 a corner came in and nobody seemed to be able to clear before they slammed the ball into the net. Could the comeback be on?

Colton wasted a couple of decent chances to get their fourth and couldn’t seem to get a foothold in the game. Beeston still looking dangerous on the counter and if not for a last ditch tackle from dan Walker it would of been 3-2

As it was they did get the second goal, a misplaced pass by the Colton defence allowed a free shot on goal which the Beeston player took really well.

Colton hung on and defended til the death to win the 3 points.
