Colton Athletic 3rds 4 - 0 Old Centralians Academics (14.09.19)

Colton started off on the front foot and took the lead within 10 minutes, as good work from Rob Ashworth set Lewis Rothery up for an easy finish. Colton pushed on and grabbed a second on 18 minutes as Dan Walker played a long ball upfield, again Lewis Rothery latched onto it and finished cooly into the bottom corner.

Colton really should have had a couple more goals in the first half but wayward finished let them down. The second half started and Colton were put under some pressure by a couple of long balls into the box, but Colton managed to stay strong and keep the threat at bay.

On 57 minutes great work by Rob Trigg, working down the left hand side set up Lee Mitchell inside the 18 yard box, he made no mistake with a finish under the keeper.

Colton withstood some more pressure from the opposition, until Lewis Carry sent in a deep cross which evaded the keeper and went straight over him and into the far corner. A good performance all round.
