Colton won a scrappy match with a later strike 7 minutes from the end. Leeds Independent played the better football.

After having moved the conkers from the touchline, Colton took an early lead.

Chris Hick launched a long free kick that caught the Indy ‘keeper off his line, the ball ending up in the net after 10 minutes. Colton’s passing was off point and Indy began to grow into the match and their link up play was quick.

It was no surprise when they equalised with a swift counter attack on 30 minutes.

Colton thought they had scored their second when Danny Coates found the net, however the referee ruled that Coates was offside; there can’t have been much in it.

Not much else to report in the first half apart from some goading between a few of the players from both sides.

Half time 1 -1.

With the slope, Indy had the majority of the second half. A lot of possession, but little to show as Colton defended extremely well as a unit. Crosses were cleared, shots were blocked and tackles made to ensure that the ball stayed out of the Colton net.

Colton tried to counter, but they needed to keep the ball better to make in impact.

After substitutions were made from both benches, the game looked as if it was heading to a draw.

However, with 7 minutes remaining, Colton got the breakthrough.

A quick passage of play on the right saw Max McCormick play a superb ball into the Indy box. The ball was layed off by Jono Goodwin and Sam McDonnell, at the edge of the box, struck a first time shot into the bottom corner.

Final score 1 - 2
