Middleton Park 3 - 1 Colton AFC Res (20.10.2018)

With a few returning from injury hopes were high even playing an unbeaten side. Things didnt start well and after only 10 mins Colton were 1 - 0 down. Colton rallied and got quickly back into the game with some good link up play on the left between Sam Stephens & Phil Woofit. Phil put in a deep cross for Jake Turpin to volley home and make it 1 - 1. Colton remained the better team and probably should have made it 1 - 2 but Alby was only able to hit the side netting. Middleton were quick on the break and agaisnt the run of play struck to make it 2 - 1. Again the second half had a lot of positives for Colton with their defence holding strong and putting in a good performance. Eventually however the lads ran out of steam and with more injury concerns Middleton took the game 3 - 1. Although this is a loss, patches in the game showed clearly what Colton are capabale of, a positive result could change their season from here on in.
